DirectSPEED is a service for determining the available bandwidth of your Internet connection.
Basically, you can test every conceivable Internet access with our service. We support any type of ISDN, DSL, wireless, fiber or cable connection.
Yes, there are no user fees whatsoever. We are funded solely by the advertising displayed on the site, rather than charging money for this service.
If you have your own homepage, we would be very happy if you would link us.
Recommend us to your friends and acquaintances so that they also test your Internet speed via our portal.
Either there really is a defect or error on your line, or programs are running on your PC in the background, which exchange data with the Internet while the test is running.
We recommend closing all running programs before the test.
From time to time it happens that users of local proxy servers or routers complain about extremely falsified measurement results in the download test. These false measurements are due to the fact that the router caches the data from us and then sends it to your computer with a theoretically achievable 1000 Mbit/s (standard LAN speed). Therefore, some users show values of over 500 Mbit/s, even if only DSL 2000 is available.
Unfortunately yes. Some antivirus programs block the upload of data to our server, which is needed to perform the measurement at all. Some firewalls have a so-called caching function and store the data sent by us (during the download speed test) in the RAM. After that, the download test shows an incredibly high data rate, which is also unrealistic. Now you might think that DirectSPEED is an inaccurate service, but we are probably the only ones who admit possible discrepancies, since it is not possible to determine 100% exact speed in any internet speed test. The speed of your connection is made up of a wide variety of factors.
